First Aid

Emergency Action 101 Instructors teach American Safety and Health Institute’s Basic First Aid Course. This course is consistent with recommendations of the 2010 National First Aid Science Advisory Board as well as OSHA’s best practices for First Aid training in the work place.

ASHI ‘s First Aid Course was developed to help students to develop first-hand knowledge, skills and confidence to respond in the event first aid care is needed. Emergency Action 101 Instructors are there to implement the intent of the course.
Course covers over forty different First Aid scenarios including:

▪    control bleeding
▪    checking for signs of internal bleeding
▪    managing shock
▪    amputation
▪    open abdominal injury
▪    head, neck or back injury
▪    brain injury
▪    eye injuries
▪    nose bleeds
▪    burns
▪    strokes
▪    diabetic emergencies
▪    seizures
▪    asthma attacks
▪    pregnancy complications
▪    poison
▪    bites and stings
▪    heat and cold emergencies
▪    emotional considerations
